The most beautiful dives with Te Mara Nui

Te Mara Nui is primarily a diving center, but these are not the only discoveries we can offer you…

Open 7 days a week, all year round.

A few examples of activities:

Scuba Diving:

A rich and preserved lagoon with 9 passes, offering us a wide variety of diverse dive options.

Te Mara Nui

Te Mara Nui is primarily a diving center that has been established for many years on Raiatea.

Le Club

Te Mara Nui Diving is an accredited center by the FFESSM (French Federation of Underwater Studies and Sports) located at the Uturoa marina, 300 meters from the city center. Its geographical location allows quick access to dive sites: between 7 and 25 minutes by motorboat, depending on the spots.

The 2 Boats

1 boat for diving, and 1 boat for snorkeling and excursions.

Floriane

Floriane is your instructor! The manager of the club and holder of a BEES 1 (State Diploma in Sports Education), she knows the lagoon perfectly, having been diving in it since 1994. Service quality, safety, and friendliness are essential for Floriane. That’s why the dive groups do not exceed 5 divers and “shark feeding” is prohibited. Moreover, in order to preserve the environment, all dive sites are equipped with mooring buoys to anchor the boat during dives.

Introductory Dives

If you have never dived before, you will start with an introductory dive. After a briefing on how your dive will proceed, you will descend alone with your instructor to a maximum depth of 6 meters for a duration of 30 to 40 minutes. For this first immersion, you will be surrounded by colorful fish: butterfly fish, parrotfish, anemones, and their clownfish…

The main dive sites

No matter the level of the divers, our rich and preserved lagoon offers us a wide variety of dives: drift dives, dives on coral drop-offs, wreck dives, or ocean dives… Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced diver, each dive leaves a wonderful memory…

Raiatea

The Nordby Wreck
(Accessible from Level 1)

3-masted steel ship, sunk in 1900. This wreck, very well preserved, is located in the lagoon in front of the Teavapiti pass. The Nordby is 60 meters long. The exploration of this wreck takes place between 18 and 29 meters. Surgeonfish, shrimp, spondylus, loaches, and nudibranchs have made the wreck their home.

Raiatea

Teavapiti Pass: The Drift
(Accessible from Level 1)

Certainly the richest for its fauna, gray sharks, blacktip and whitetip sharks, schools of jacks, barracudas, triggerfish, platax, and Napoleon wrasse are often present during this dive.

Raiatea

Teavapiti Pass: The Napoleon Drop-off
(Accessible for introductory dives)

This time, no large schools of fish, but a great variety of coral fish: parrotfish, wrasse, surgeonfish, anemone fish with their clownfish, porcupinefish, beautiful yellow and purple coral drop-off, cavities with soldierfish, squirrelfish, angelfish… It is not uncommon to see turtles and Napoleon wrasse.

Raiatea

Miri Pass: The Three Rocks
(Accessible from PE40 level)

Whitetip sharks swim around these 3 large rocks covered in coral, followed by the exploration of a beautiful purple coral drop-off (distillopora), with emperor and royal angelfish. We dive at this site for the coral, but sometimes we are treated to some great surprises.

Raiatea

Miri Pass: The Drift
(Accessible from Level 1)

No sharks on this dive, but barracudas, jacks, platax, leopard rays…

Raiatea

Miri Miri Ocean
(Accessible for introductory dives)

A very calm dive with no current, very clear and shallow water, a beautiful coral garden where blacktip sharks are always present, schools of paddlefish, parrotfish… you will love it!

Tahaa

Céran Pass
(Accessible from PE40 level)

Drift dive on a pinnacle covered with yellow coral, with big-eyed jacks, surgeonfish, whitetip sharks… and sometimes a huge school of barracudas circling around this pinnacle.

Tahaa

Tiva Pass
(Accessible from Level 1)

We start this dive by exploring a beautiful yellow coral drop-off, then we ascend about ten meters and finish the dive in several canyons, each very different from the others. A very pleasant dive with often crystal-clear water.
